KrishiMitra is an independent agricultural intelligence technology platform engineered and maintained by CrestSubarn, a private commercial technology startup founded in 2026. KrishiMitra is not an official government agency, ministry, or department. Market price records and mandi arrivals displayed on the platform are aggregated from publicly available government open-data initiatives (including Open Government Data Platform India data.gov.in, e-NAM portal, Agmarknet, and Karnataka ReMS) and open meteorological sources (Open-Meteo) for the sole convenience of grassroots farmers.
1. Anonymous Access for Farmers (No Account Required)
We firmly believe that critical agricultural information must be accessible without barriers. Farmers do not need to register an account, sign up, or create a password to use KrishiMitra.
All core features—including real-time mandi prices across all Indian states, commodity trend analyses, hyperlocal weather forecasts, crop advisory insights, and AI voice queries—are available completely anonymously. We do not maintain user profiles, tracking cookies, or persistent identities for farmers browsing the platform.
2. Android Device Permissions & Exact Usage
The KrishiMitra mobile application requests only the minimum runtime permissions essential for hyper-local agricultural intelligence:

Safety & Handling: Voice audio is captured only when you actively tap the microphone button. Audio streams are processed in real-time solely to convert speech into agricultural queries and provide voice answers. Audio data is ephemeral, never recorded in the background, never stored permanently, and never shared with advertising networks.
ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION)Purpose: Automatically discovers the nearest APMC mandis, local buyer FPOs, and localized weather advisories for your immediate agricultural block/district.
Safety & Handling: GPS coordinates are processed ephemerally on-device to compute proximity distances to official mandi market yards. Your location is never logged to a continuous tracking database, never linked to personal identifiers, and never shared with third-party advertisers.
android.permission.CAMERA)Purpose: Used exclusively when you tap the camera attachment button in the AI Assistant to take a live photo of a diseased crop leaf or pest infestation for immediate agronomic diagnosis.
Safety & Handling: The camera is activated only upon your explicit tap. Captured images are analyzed ephemerally to produce crop remedies and are never used for biometric facial recognition or commercial profiling. When uploading an existing photo from your gallery, KrishiMitra utilizes Android's privacy-focused System Photo Picker—meaning the app never requires or requests broad access to your photo library or device storage.
KrishiMitra does not request broad storage permissions (such as READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE). It cannot scan your documents, personal media files, contact list, or phone state. It does not draw overlays or display notifications when the app is closed.
3. Information Collected for Registered Traders & Market Partners
For verified non-APMC traders, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), and APMC market officials who choose to list their daily procurement rates in the Partner Portal:
- Business Identity: Trader / entity business name, operational district, and market yard location address.
- Contact Details: Official WhatsApp phone number and email address, used strictly for sending secure OTP login codes and enabling farmers to directly contact verified buyers.
- Rate Bulletins: Daily commodity procurement quotes uploaded voluntarily to inform local farming communities.
4. Account Deletion & Data Erasure Policy
We respect your right to data erasure and privacy control in full compliance with the Google Play Developer Account Deletion Policy and applicable data protection regulations:
For General Farmers & Users:
Because farmers browse KrishiMitra completely anonymously without account creation, there is no stored farmer account profile or personal data to delete. Simply clearing your browser cache or uninstalling the mobile app removes all locally cached preferences (such as selected language and pin location) instantly.
For Registered Traders, FPOs & APMC Officials:
Authorized partners can initiate full data deletion through either of the following two mechanisms:
- Direct In-App Self-Service: Log in to the Partner Portal, locate your entity badge, and tap “Delete Profile”. Confirming this action immediately deactivates your directory entry, wipes active session credentials, and delists your rate postings.
- Web / Email Data Deletion Request: Send an email from your registered address or WhatsApp number to krishimitrasupport@crestsubarn.com with the subject line
“Account Deletion & Data Erasure Request”. Upon identity verification, our administration team will permanently purge your entity record, contact information, and rate history within 48 hours.
5. Data Security & Encryption Standards
All network communication between the KrishiMitra web/mobile app and our backend API servers is strictly encrypted using industry-standard Transport Layer Security (HTTPS / TLS 1.3) with 256-bit encryption. Partner authentication utilizes cryptographically signed, expiring HMAC-SHA256 tokens to prevent session hijacking and unauthorized rate manipulation.
